Kane County is now hiring for a full time Zoning Planner in the Development and Community Services Department



Kane County is now accepting applications for a Zoning Planner. This position will assist the Zoning Enforcement Officer with general administration and enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance. This position works with other zoning planners to research complaints, coordinate and perform inspections to enforce the Zoning Ordinance, record results and maintain paper and digital files. 

The Zoning Planner also represents the County at Administrative Adjudication Hearings. This position must exercise considerable tact, courtesy, firmness, and professionalism in frequent contact with property owners, developers, contractors and the public. This position participates in current planning activities and performs related work as necessary and as directed. 

Qualified applicants will have a bachelor's degree and 3 - 5 five years of experience in zoning, planning, geography or physical science and continuing education courses in planning and zoning. Direct experience with county and/or municipal zoning and land use planning, administration and enforcement is preferred. Experience with Geographic Information Systems is desirable.

Kane County companies eligible for matching export grants



In May 2015, Chicago Regional Growth Corporation Exports Initiative (Formerly known as Metro Chicago Exports) announced the launch of a Grant Program to help small and mid-sized businesses grow in international trade, specifically through exports. The Chicago Regional Growth Corporation Exports Grant Program, presented by JPMorgan Chase & Co., awards grants up to $5,000 to businesses throughout Northeastern Illinois. This innovative and successful grant program has been renewed for 2019.
 
The Kane County Exports Grant Program provides an additional incentive for Kane County companies to start or increase exporting. Companies located in Kane County which apply for, and are awarded, a grant from Chicago Regional Growth Corporation Exports Program, would be eligible for up to an additional $5,000 from Kane County to reimburse 50% of eligible expenses associated with implementing an export plan.

Companies located in Kane County which are awarded a grant from Chicago Regional Growth Corporation Exports Program.
 
WHAT GRANTS COVER
Grant awards up to an additional $5,000 to reimburse 50% of eligible expenses to support the company's next steps to going global. Grant awards may also cover a Kane County company's participation in the ExporTech© program.
